It’s a case of “The X Factor vs. “Duets” …who’s going to come out on top? John Legend who is going to be a judge on the new singing competition “Duets” recently had some not-so-nice things to say about Britney Spears and Demi Lovato …the newest judges to sign on to rival show The X Factor.
Legend wasn’t shy when he recently did an interview with E! News …admitting that he didn’t think the two former Disney stars couldn’t sing.
“You know it’s interesting. It should be very interesting. I don’t have much to say.” He went on to say, ”It’s interesting when people, you know, are judging singing competitions when they aren’t really singers.”
Damn. It’s like that John?
And he didn’t stop there. John was getting a little bit of backlash for his opinions …so he went to Twitter to respond.
“Read my mentions today if you want some entertainment served with a side dish of crazy and a sprinkle of racism,” he posted a cryptic message.
John did want to clarify tho, so he followed his tweet up with another one …just in case we didn’t know who he was talking about.
“I’ve never heard demi’s voice btw. Wasn’t referring to her.”
Brit gets no love! Well, atleast not from Legend. However, his “Duets” co-stars, Robin Thicke and Kelly Clarkson were much nicer when asked about the starlets. Robin said, “Oh come on, everything Britney does, she excels at. Demi is a lovely young lady, and I’m sure they’ll do nothing but make the show a lot more fun to watch.”
Kelly Clarkson also had nothing but praise. “I’m a big fan of both of them. Both of those girls are super sweet. Obviously they are both performers so…I think that show really needs it. I don’t think everybody latched onto that show like they thought they would.”
See, that’s what I like to see …artists supporting other artists. John could stand to learn a few things.
