Who said a cartoon can’t be the number one movie in America? Well Disney and Pixar proved all the non-believers wrong with their new movie Brave.
The animated movie took over the box office this past weekend bringing in $66.7 million. It actually beat out Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted, which previously held the number one spot since its premiere.
Rounding out the top three was Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, making just under $20 million for its opening weekend. But fortunately it wasn’t a disappointment to the production company considering that’s about how much they expected to bring in. Shoot for the moon and land on the stars, huh? Top 3 …not bad. Not bad at all.
At the end of the day, parents are taking their kids to see great, inspiring movies …which not to mention have beautiful visual effects to go along.
Props to you Disney and Pixar!
