A$AP Rocky was arrested in New York Thursday night after getting into a physical altercation with two amateur photographers. The incident reportedly happened after the 23-year-old MC got into an argument with an anonymous individual in downtown Manhattan.

During the verbal squabble, two onlookers began taking photos of the Purple Swag spitter. According to MTV news after Rocky and a cohort confronted the shutterbugs, a fight broke out as the Harlem rapper was arrested after being accused of stealing.

Rocky faces possible charges of attempted robbery. Other news outlets are reporting that the unnamed victims suffered bruises and cuts. One of the unidentified onlookers required treatment at a nearby hospital.

The rising rapper is currently on a promotional tour in support of his anticipated debut album Long Love A$AP, due out this fall. The project will feature A$AP Mob members Yams, Twelvy, and Ferg, among others. Rocky is set to make his network television debut tonight (July 20) on the popular NBA talk show Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.—Keith Murphy, CBS Local
