Are you excited for this movie?

The crooner co-penned Beyonce’s 2007 hit “Irreplaceable,” and is now speaking out on his latest work with Bey for her upcoming fifth studio album, expected this year.

“I’m still putting stuff together for Beyonce’s album,” he told Billboard. “They’re still trying to figure out what they want that to be, which I’m not mad at.”

Bey has reportedly been working on the record since last summer when she met with the likes of Ryan Tedder, The-Dream and Sia in the Hamptons to collaborate on potential album material. While the effort is months in the making and remains unscheduled for release, Ne-Yo says it will be worth the wait.

“Beyonce’s the kind of artist where you’re not gonna see it till it’s right,” he said in the interview. “And her fans — they love her so they’ll be patient.”

No official single has been released, but fans have had a taste of what to expect with new tracks appearing in recent Pepsi and H&M commercials, along with a contribution to animated movie Epic‘s soundtrack, “Rise Up.”

In the clip for “We Can’t Stop” Cyrus tries her best to make you forget about her Hannah Montana days. She twerks it in skintight white leggings and a matching crop top. She also does a little advertising for Beats By Dre (she’s a fan of the orange Pill portable speakers) and EOS chapsticks. She French kisses a life-size Barbie doll version of herself. And breaks a piñata full of hot dogs and hamburgers. Basically, she’s just being Miley.

The singer debuted her new single, “Woman’s World,” off her upcoming album Closer To The Truth (out September 24). The upcoming release will be her first in 12 years.

Wearing a neon pink faux-hawk wig that many thought was actually a bird, Cher strutted her stuff in a bondage-style bustier and skinny, skinny leggings as she sang her heart out for the ladies.

Strobe lights pulsated along to the song’s electronic beats as a team of female back-up dancers helped add a little energy to the performance. Watch the clip below.

The performance wasn’t without its hiccups; Cher seemed a little off tempo while singing the chorus. Even the singer took to Twitter to address some of the technical problems on the song.

No matter its problems though, the song, written and produced by Paul Oakenfield, is bound to be a hit in the clubs, picking up where Cher’s 1998 mega-hit single “Believe” left off.

But the night was certainly not all about Cher; it was about crowning the season 4 winner.

Hanson performed a career-spanning, two-hour set during their June 17th birthday show, just one of two nights spent celebrating at NYC’s Irving Plaza. While older tracks like monster hit “MMMBop” and “Lucy” off 1997′s Middle of Nowhere received the most screams, don’t count out 2000′s “This Time Around” and current single “Get The Girl Back” — they were close contenders.

Before Hanson took the stage, tracks from their new album Anthem were played on the speakers and many in the crowd already knew all the words, though the record’s official release date was the following day. Jay-Z makes announcements in Galaxy spots, but Eminem is taking it to the streets. Late Tuesday (June 18) night, he Tweeted out a new track that will be released on DJ Tony Touch’s next mixtape called “Symphony In H.”

Eminem has been absent from the public eye since 2010′s Recovery. This new track is sure to fuel speculation that he’s working on a follow-up. The mixtape is titled PieceMaker 3…Return Of The 50 MCs and is available to preorder on Bandcamp.

At this point, his talent as a composer is almost universally accepted, if often begrudgingly. Because for every intricate drum pattern he programs into his MPC, there’s a contradiction he forces you to reconcile (or ignore). He gets us to consume his willful ignorance, unapologetic misogyny, and often blatant hypocrisy because we can’t deny that his compositions make us move, groove, and feel. On the Nina Simone-sampling “Blood on the Leaves,” he co-opts the powerful imagery of a lynching while he’s whining about alimony. He’s unafraid to tamper with Simone’s iconic voice, and once you hear him juxtapose the powerful lyrical imagery of “Strange Fruit” with the triumphant ignorance of the trap, a poignant picture of Chicago’s dystopian South Side begins to emerge. All this, on the same track in which he admonishes his “second-string b****es” for “tryin’a get a baby.” The track’s lyrics aren’t the album’s most offensively misogynistic—that honor would likely go to the chowder-headed “sweet and sour sauce” line from “I’m In It”—but they expose the striking dichotomy of his willful ignorance and artful craft.

But for much of Yeezus, Kanye is angry. Angry that the same retailers that chase poor black kids out of their stores are more than happy to help a rapper blow his advance on a chain. Angry that his pastry is taking too long to arrive from the kitchen in the “french-ass restaurant” he’s patronizing. Angry that he didn’t get enough help jump-starting his ready-to-wear line. Angry that he’s not universally recognized as a deity. For a new father with millions of fans and dollars, he sure has a lot of hate in his heart. But for the art’s sake, is that necessarily a bad thing? And where does it come from?

“Every time that I play Chicago, I don’t know what it is,” Lovato continued. “Maybe it’s because I felt so much love here and I’ve been through so much. I just want you guys to know that when I come to Chicago, I never forget that this place is the place that saved my life.”

“If anybody out there is dealing with an eating disorder, substance abuse, cutting, bullying, whatever it is,” she told the crowd. “I want you guys to know that I’ve been through it and that I’ve gotten through it and you can do it too.”

“It was never my intention to desecrate the flag of the United States of America. I was shooting a video for a song off my album entitled ‘God Bless Amerika’. The clip that surfaced on the Internet was a camera trick clip that revealed that behind the American Flag was the Hoods of America. In the final edit of the video you will see the flag fall to reveal what is behind it but will never see it on the ground. In most people eyes including my own who were raised in that environment, the Hood is the only America they know and the only America I knew growing up. I was fortunate from my God giving talents to escape the Hood and see the other beautiful places this country has to offer but most people who are born in that environment don’t get that chance. That’s their view of their America. That was Dwayne M Carter from Hollygrove New Orleans view of America. That’s who I’m speaking for in this song.”

By now everyone knows that Justin Bieber is not known for his driving skills but this time he might have gone too far. Bieber was driving his Ferrari late Monday night after leaving the Laugh Factory on Sunset Boulevard  when he hit a member of the paparazzi! What did Justin Bieber do? He left! The man that was hit was rushed to the hospital and Los Angeles Police Departmen began to look for Bieber.

The one thing that makes this incident different that most, it was caught on tape!

According to CBS’s Amber Lee, the footage showed Justin Bieber and friend Lil Twist in Bieber’s white Ferrari.  His car was surrounded by paparazzi after he was leaving the comedy club at 11:45pm.

Once the LAPD was able to catch up with Bieber and his management he was questioned and cleared at 5:00am!

“He didn’t know he hit anybody, and once when cops were able to see the video . . . you can clearly see that this wasn’t one of the ones where a photographer is clearly hit,” Walters said.

“We feel really good [about it],” Bangalter said of Abrams’ new directorial role in the rebooted Star Wars franchise. “We’ve always been big fans of his work. I happened to have met J.J. a few years back, and he’s a really cool guy. He seems to be the perfect candidate to keep the Force alive.”

Bangalter copped to being a fan of the Abrams-helmed TV show Lost, including the polarizing series finale. “As Pharrell would sing in ‘Get Lucky,’ ‘All ends with beginnings,’” he joked, referencing the producer-vocalist’s lyrics on their collaborative hit, currently at No. 3 on the Hot 100 chart.

“We haven’t met him, but we have some mutual friends and we learned that he also liked the album, which is really incredible to hear,” Bangalter said. “He was really responsive to the record. It’s cool. It goes with the idea behind RAM, which was being able to interact with the musicians that have inspired us.”

But it’s legendary Beach Boys leader Brian Wilson that both members of Daft Punk say would be the holy grail of collaborators — if they could just find the nerve to meet him.

Lil Wayne has been in the news lately for his seizures and retirement but this next story is making people furious! Lil Wayne, who was filming his music video for  ”God Bless Amerika” over the weekend, used the American flag in a very disgraceful way.  The flag is in the air while he is rapping and is released to the ground. Once the flag is on the ground, Lil Wayne continues to rap while stepping all over the flag!

Most would think this was innocent but his lyrics might say something different. In this song, Lil wayne raps:

“My country ’tis of thee / Sweet land of kill ‘em all and let ‘em die / God bless Amerika / This ole’ godless Amerika.”

Was this innocent or was he trying to say something by stepping on the flag?

Season one’s premiere episode was titled “Who Are You, Really?” That was a question that Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) was asking of her former paramour Bill Compton (played by her real-life husband, Stephen Moyer, who also directed the episode). At the end of last season, Compton appeared to die, only to be immediately resurrected with even greater powers. In the season premiere, when Sookie comes face to face with Bill, she is skeptical that it is actually the vampire she used to love. So “Who Are You, Really?” by Mikky Ekko seems to be a fitting song for all this.

But as Gary Calamar tells Radio.com, there was originally different music planned for the season premiere, but a change of the episode’s title necessitated a change of plans. “This was an interesting situation,” he said. “The first script for season six was originally titled ‘Don’t Let me Be Misunderstood,’ and we went ahead and recorded a beautiful, ‘True Blood-y’ new version of the song with Eric Burdon (who of course sang the original Animals version) with Jenny Lewis (Rilo Kiley, Postal Service). We were thrilled with the new version.”

It’s hard to remember a time when One Direction wasn’t being played on pop radio.

As a crowd of eager fans waited outside their hotel for a glimpse of the British boy banders, Radio.com asked them to recall the first time they heard their song on the radio. This was last March, just as 1D was starting to break big stateside, during a visit to New York in promotion of the U.S. release of debut album Up All Night. Apparently the guys had heard their breakthrough single “What Makes You Beautiful” just two days earlier for the first time in the U.S.

“We were on our way to a signing and it came on on the radio station and we all sat in the car [thinking], ‘This is sick!’” Zayn Malik said.

“It was really exciting because it’s really surreal to be in America and hear our song on the radio,” Liam Payne added.

Mars’ latest single off his 2012 album, Unorthodox Jukebox, is a funky Michael Jackson-esque ode to his dream lady that has him getting downright giddy at just how special she is.

Looking like it’s straight out of the ‘70s, the clip has been given the “Rock With You” treatment with flashing lights that not only highlight his shiny gold chains, but his even shinier afro. His back-up band shakes it too, proving that it’s not only Mars who has all the right moves. Watch the clip below.

Perry has been bolstering her presence among the high-fashion set, turning up at the Met Gala (co-sponsored by Vogue) on May 6 in a goth-royalty combination look that was a salute to British punk.

In a behind the scenes video with Perry on Vogue.com, she reveals some secrets of her beauty routine, including some self-evaluation from the singer. She characterizes herself and her glam team as to coming into a more age-appropriate era in her make-up and reveals that her heavy make-up in the early days was to cover bad skin and acne, which she feels has improved as she’s aged — thus resolving many of her skin insecurities.

The video, directed by Brown, opens with a statistic on gun violence and quote about peace from Christopher (Brown, not known as CB, as the video text clarifies). The footage is all black and white and the first half features added color exclusively in red and blue — an obvious nod to the Bloods and the Crips, whose violence has long dominated the location in Compton, Calif. where Brown shot the video. But the video isn’t a condemnation. To the contrary, Brown tweeted during the video’s filming last month that he meant it to give love back to the ‘hood (though not his or Aaliyah’s ‘hood, as Brown is from Virginia and Aaliyah was born in Brooklyn and raised in Detroit).

In addition to shots in Compton, the video also features stage sets of Brown dancing while a projection of Aaliyah joins him on screens in the background. Then Brown and an army of hoodie-wearing men with matching gold chains do a dance routine while Brown flashes silver vampire/zombie/alien/inhuman eyes. How those two conceits relate to the theme of unity is unclear, unless it conveys a True Blood-like sentiment to embrace all types of creatures, human and non.

The 41-date Would You Like a Tour? kicks off September 25 in Portland, Oregon and wraps up on October 25 in Los Angeles. Drizzy posted a full list of tour dates on his October’s Very Own website today (June 17), with tickets going on sale this Friday (June 21) via Live Nation.

The tour will presumably be supporting Drake’s upcoming effort, Nothing Was the Same, which has already seen the release of three tracks including lead single, “Started From the Bottom.” Drizzy also put out “5AM in Toronto” and “Girls Love Beyonce” through his October’s Very Own label website. Though no official release date has been revealed as of yet, the album is expected to drop some time this year.

The rapper is also keeping busy with his Cash Money label mates Birdman and Lil Wayne for a rumored Big Tymers reboot, which has yet to see the studio.

 Jay-Z shocked fans this weekend by announcing that he will be releasing his new album called “Magna Carta Holy Grail” on July 4. But in normal Jay-Z fashion, he announced it for the whole world to see… at the NBA finals!

We DO have word that the baby girl’s middle name is named after Kanye West’s mother Donda who recently passed away.

According to CBS Los Angeles  Kim had a natural child birth after having contractions Friday night and went into labor early Saturday morning which is 5 weeks earlier than her due date! However both momma and baby are in great health.

The BIG question regarding Kanye West’s appearance at the birth have been announced and yes indeed he was right by her side!  Kanye cancelled being at his own record release party when Kim called and told him she was feeling “a little off.” Aww we are so happy for these two love birds but we would really like a name and a picture….

During game five of the NBA Finals tonight (June 16), Jay-Z appeared in a three-minute commercial, during which Mr. Carter announced that his new album, titled Magna Carta Holy Grail, would be out July 4. Simultaneously, www.magnacartaholygrail.com launched.

The video acted as an extended ad for both Jay’s new album and Samsung; at the end, “The next big thing is here,” the company’s most recent catchphrase, flashes across the screen. Watch the ad/album announcement below.

The reason for the pairing? An app will allow 1 million Samsung Galaxy phone and tablet users to download Jay-Z’s new album 72 hours before its release. It’s not technically free, though. Samsung has purchased the massive amount of albums — for $5 each, according to The Wall Street Journal. (It’s unclear whether or not the 1 million albums will count toward the album’s chart and RIAA certifications; Billboard‘s standards currently dictate that an album must cost at least $3.49 during their first four weeks of release in order for them to count toward charting on the Billboard 200.)

It’s a new marketing move that echoes the rapper’s words during the video: “We need to write the new rules.”

In a press release, Spears said, “I have always loved the Smurfs as a kid and now my boys are the biggest Smurfs fans EVER. I wanted to surprise them with a song in the movie. I know they’ll think it’s Smurftastic!”

The track will run over the film’s end credits when it opens on July 31. Director Raja Gosnell said in the release, “I am very excited that Britney is joining our smurfy adventure. ‘Ooh La La’ is the perfect Smurf-party song, and the perfect button on the film for audiences around the world.”

Gosnell isn’t the only director Spears has been working with on the project. On June 8, the singer tweeted a photo of herself from the playback of video recording sessions for the single, which is being filmed with noted music video director Marc Klasfeld.

No information is yet available about the video’s release date, but the single officially debuted this morning (June 17) across pop radio and online. It leaked nearly one month ago, so Britney fans may already be familiar with the track, which was produced by Dr. Luke, Cirkut and Ammo.

Late last month, Spears hit the recording studio with “Scream and Shout” collaborator will.i.am to begin work on her eighth studio album. The Black Eyed Peas leader aimed to create a very personal environment previous to the recording sessions, as a way to set the tone.

Spears has not released a single since August 2011′s “Criminal,” off Femme Fatale.
